— Custom Cabinets in Sarasota

Cabinetry designed for the way Sarasota lives.

Custom cabinets are the quiet architecture of a well-designed home. They decide how a kitchen feels to cook in, how a great room reads from across the pool deck, how a bathroom holds its calm at the start of the day. At Brenton Gold Kitchens & Interiors, we design and build bespoke cabinetry throughout Sarasota and the surrounding Gulf Coast — cabinetry made and sourced in America, drawn around the way each client actually lives.

Our clients come to us with all sorts of projects. Some are planning a full kitchen remodel in a bayfront home. Others are furnishing a new build with whole-home interior design. Many begin with a single room — a pantry, a home office, an entertainment wall — and discover how much a piece of properly designed cabinetry changes the way that room works. What every project shares is the same standard of drawing, specification and installation.

This page walks through the rooms we most often design in Sarasota, from the kitchen outward. If a project you are planning is not listed here, it is almost certainly still something we can help with — most bespoke cabinetry commissions begin as a conversation about what a specific room needs to do.

Custom cabinetry, room by room.

Custom Kitchen Cabinets

The kitchen is the heart of the Sarasota home — the room that has to work harder and look more beautiful than any other. Custom kitchen cabinets are the foundation of that. Rather than pulling stock boxes off a shelf and hoping they fit, we draw every base cabinet, wall cabinet, island and larder around the way you actually live: how you cook, where you set your coffee down each morning, how many people gather for the holidays.

Every kitchen we design at Brenton Gold begins with a conversation and a set of measurements. From there we develop hand-drawn elevations, choose door styles and finishes, and specify the interior fittings — soft-close drawers, cutlery dividers, pull-out spice racks, tray dividers, integrated bins — that make a kitchen quietly effortless to use. The result is cabinetry that fits your architecture, your appliances and your rituals, not a compromise between them.

Because our cabinets are made and sourced in America, we can specify inset, beaded inset, full overlay or shaker doors in any dimension, painted in a custom colour mixed to your preference. Built-Ins

Well-considered built-ins transform the leftover corners of a home — the space beside a fireplace, the wall at the end of a hallway, the awkward alcove in a great room — into some of its most useful and beautiful moments. Built-in bookcases, window seats, banquettes, bar cabinetry and display shelving allow us to work with the existing architecture of your Sarasota home rather than around it.

We design built-ins as furniture, not joinery. Proportions, reveals, crown details and hardware are drawn to sit comfortably with your millwork and trim. Interiors are finished properly — adjustable shelves on concealed supports, integrated lighting, dovetailed drawers where storage is needed — so the pieces look as considered from the inside as they do from across the room.

Entertainment Walls

A custom entertainment wall is one of the most rewarding uses of bespoke cabinetry in a Gulf Coast home. Done well, it anchors the great room, hides the technology, displays what you love and creates the kind of warm, layered focal point that a wall-mounted television alone can never achieve.

We design entertainment walls around your specific components — television size, sound system, gaming or streaming devices, art collection — and around the way the room is used. Ventilated media compartments, concealed cable routing, integrated lighting for shelves and niches, and the option to conceal the screen behind sliding or lift-up panels are all considered from the first sketch.

Materials are chosen to sit beautifully with the rest of your interior. A painted shaker wall in a soft, chalky neutral reads architectural and calm; walnut or rift-cut oak with brass or aged-bronze hardware reads warmer and more collected. Either way, the wall becomes part of the architecture rather than a piece of furniture pushed against it.

Home Offices

Working from home in Sarasota should not mean surrendering a beautiful room to a folding desk and a filing cabinet. A custom home office — whether it occupies a dedicated study, a guest bedroom or a quiet corner of the primary suite — can be as polished and personal as the rest of the house.

We design desks, credenzas, bookcases and concealed storage as a single composition. Drawers are sized for the files, technology and stationery you actually use. Cable management, printer garages, monitor risers and integrated task lighting are drawn in from the start, so nothing is retro-fitted afterwards. Closed cabinetry keeps the work of the day out of sight when the room needs to be a study again in the evening.

For clients running businesses from home, we can create dual workstations, meeting-ready sight lines and dedicated storage for samples, drawings or product. For clients who simply want a serene room to read and write in, we design something quieter — a library-office that feels much more like a favourite room than a place of work.

Pantries

A properly designed pantry is one of the most transformative additions we can make to a Sarasota kitchen. Whether it is a walk-in room adjacent to the main kitchen, a butler's pantry that handles coffee, wine and serving, or a tall bank of pull-out larder cabinets integrated into the kitchen wall, the pantry is where daily life is quietly organised.

We plan pantries around the way you shop and cook: dedicated zones for dry goods, small appliances, glassware and everyday china; deep drawers for bulk items; adjustable shelves for the things that change with the seasons. Countertop runs are sized for the coffee machine, the toaster and the mixer, with power outlets placed exactly where they are needed and appliance garages to keep the visible kitchen calm.

Finishes can either match the main kitchen for a seamless extension or shift subtly — a darker paint, a natural wood shelf, an unlacquered brass rail — to give the pantry its own character. Either approach keeps the working parts of the kitchen beautifully contained.

Bathroom Vanities

A custom bathroom vanity is a small piece of cabinetry that has an outsized effect on a room. Because bathrooms are compact and every dimension is visible, a stock vanity almost always feels like a compromise — the wrong width, the wrong height, the wrong depth for the plumbing behind it. A vanity drawn specifically for the room solves all of that.

We design primary-bathroom vanities, powder-room vanities, guest-bath vanities and pool-bath cabinetry to fit the exact wall it will live on, at a countertop height that suits the people using it. Drawer stacks are planned around plumbing so no interior space is wasted. Tip-out trays at the sink, integrated hampers, hidden electrical outlets and dedicated storage for hair tools are all standard considerations, not afterthoughts.

Stone tops in quartzite, marble or dolomite, and hardware in solid brass, nickel, bronze or aged gold, are specified to sit alongside your tile, mirrors and lighting. The vanity becomes part of the architecture of the bathroom rather than a piece of furniture set against it.

Mudrooms

Sarasota life moves between the pool, the beach, the garden and the golf course, and a well-planned mudroom quietly absorbs all of it. We design mudrooms that catch the day at the door — shoes, bags, sunhats, dog leads, wet towels, tennis rackets — so the rest of the house stays calm.

Typical elements include tall lockers with hooks and adjustable shelves, cubbies sized for each member of the household, benches with pull-out drawers beneath, integrated pet-feeding stations and dedicated storage for outdoor gear. Where the mudroom sits next to the garage or pool, we can include hard-wearing surfaces, tiled niches for wet items and even a rinse-off station for sandy feet and paws.

Because the mudroom is often the family's real front door, we treat it with the same detail as any other room in the house: painted joinery, considered hardware, proper lighting and a floor that can stand up to daily use without losing its warmth.

Laundry Rooms

A custom laundry room is one of the most-used and most-underestimated rooms in a Sarasota home. Bespoke cabinetry turns a purely functional space into a room that is genuinely pleasant to spend time in — and one that makes laundry, ironing, folding and storage dramatically easier.

We design laundry rooms around your machines and your routine. Front-loading washers and dryers are set on custom pedestal drawers at a comfortable working height, with countertops above for folding. Tall cabinets house cleaning supplies, linens, gift-wrap or seasonal items. A dedicated sink with a good faucet, a pull-out drying rack, a hanging rail for shirts straight from the dryer and an ironing station complete the room.

Finishes are typically slightly more practical than the main kitchen — hard-wearing painted cabinetry, a durable stone or quartz countertop, cement or porcelain tile underfoot — but the design language is the same. The laundry room reads as part of the house, not a service space grafted on to the back of it.

— How we work

Designed, drawn and installed by one team.

Every custom-cabinet project at Brenton Gold is personally overseen from the first measurement to the final piece of hardware. We do not hand your project off between departments. Derval draws your cabinetry, specifies materials and finishes with you, and coordinates directly with the makers and installers who bring it into the home.

That single point of accountability is why our Sarasota clients trust us with rooms that matter most to them — and why our built work looks, opens and closes the way the drawings promised it would.
